We all human beings are gifted with an asset of 24 hours which, we have to use very carefully so that we can get maximum hours of productivity from it.

Our new generation is failing to act with sanity. Contrary to which a sensible person will not do under the same circumstances. They are overlooking the potential harm of their insufficient sleep and of the huge cost, they have to pay in the future. Because of the lack of sleep, the productivity and mood of the individual are highly affected. As our bodies need the energy to work for the next day. That comes when we charge our bodies properly during the night. If you are unable to do so, you will feel lethargic and lazy all day and unable to do your tasks.

Problem number 1: EATING LARGE MEALS AT NIGHT

Our body is in recovery mode when we sleep. The cells and tissue break and make themselves. Protein synthesis occurs in our bodies. Hence the statement gets true that we are what we eat. Now the consumption of fast foods has become an extremely popular trend. The youngsters are unaware of the cost they are paying for their bodies while consuming a huge amount of fast food. At night the metabolism of the body gets slow. Because of being in recovery mode, it is unable to process much. When such heavy food or meal is taken at night. The body uses all the energy to digest the food hence causing unease and difficulty in sleeping.

Solution:
  • Eat at least 2 hours prior to sleeping.
  • Change your diet stick to small meals at night.
  • Avoid eating junk food or food with a lot of oil and sugar.

PROBLEM NUMBER 2: USING MOBILE PHONES AT NIGHT

If you are unable to sleep early then there is something that must be standing in the way of your sound sleep. It might be your phones and distractions around you. The artificial lights emit blue wavelengths lights that make our minds perceive that it is still daytime. Hence the melatonin (a chemical that helps us to sleep) production is reduced and we are unable to sleep properly.

Solution:
  • Say goodbye to your mobile phones, gadgets, watching late-night TV.
  • Eliminate all sources of light from your room. Try to have absolute darkness.
  • Make the room environment sleepy and as comfortable as possible.
  • Use the bed only for sleeping. So that whenever you go to bed, you don’t think of anything except sleep.

PROBLEM NUMBER 3: TAKING CAFFEINE PRODUCTS AT NIGHT

 

The trend of drinking tea and coffee is getting popular by the time but tea coffee consists of caffeine (a drug that keeps the mind awake). Therefore using such products like tea coffee or energy drinks at night makes the mind hyperactive due to which it is unable to rest.

Solution:
  • Instead of coffee and tea drink warm milk at night. Which is considered to enhance sleep.
  • Try to reduce the use of caffeine products in your diet
  • Take a hot shower at night.

PROBLEM NUMBER 4: READING BOOKS AT NIGHT

No doubt that reading books is one of the best habits one can have but, a very common problem our generation is facing, that is of reading books at night. Usually, they turn off the lights and sit in dim light to read which is highly affecting their eyesight. If we want to take work from our body the next day then we should fulfill its need for proper rest so that we can maintain mind and body harmony. If we read a book at night our mind will perceive it and do excessive processing in the subconscious. Due to which it cannot relax properly.

Solution:
  • Keep the food for thought for the breakfast.
  • Try not to read in dim lights.
  • Keep your books and reading stuff away from your bed.

Besides these problems, there are also some sleeping disorders. If you diagnose with any of them you should consult your doctor and have to take prescribed medicines.
